Lodge / Unit
The Lodge section is the area where you do much of the setup of The Working Tools.
Basic Info
Here's where you'll set up your Lodge's basic details; its name, number, logo and jurisdiction.
These details are used throughout the system, on PDF print-outs, table plans etc. It'll usually show in the format: [ lodge name ] [ lodge number ]
Lodge Logo
Adding your Lodge's logo helps personalise the system.
Your logo will appear on the main menu, but will also be added to PDF print-outs, reports, table plans and email signatures (coming soon!).
When uploading your Lodge's logo there's a few things to bear in mind;
- The maximum file size is 2mb
- A square image works best, ideally with a transpartent background (PNG)
- The upload must be an image file (not a PDF)
- If you don't have a logo, or don't want to upload it, The Working Tools logo will show instead.

Lodge Type
Lodge Type can be set under Jurisdiction. See Initial Setup.

Lodge Roles
The table on this page shows a list of the Roles within your Lodge, as well as the Member who is currently assigned that Role.
Current & Past
When a Role is assigned to a Member, it can be a Current appointment or Past.
Specific Years of holding the Role can also be added from the Member's record.
More Details
If you click on a table row, you can see all Members who have been assigned that role (including those where the Role is marked as 'Past').
Click on View Role Report to see more detail.
Adding the Roles for the Lodge
Once you've created some Members, you'll be able to assign them to those Roles (on the individual Member's record, Roles & Rituals tab).
To allow for non-Craft Lodges, when you click to 'Add a new Role' you're given a free-text box so you can enter the name of the role, although some common Roles are suggested for you (based on your Lodge Type).
For data integrity and reporting purposes, each Role name must be unique (so you don't end up with multiple Worshipful Masters!).
For Roles where there may be multiples (such as Stewards), create multiple Roles eg. Steward 1, Steward 2 etc.
Order of Roles
By clicking Change Role Order, you can change the display order of Roles within the system.
A pop-up is displayed, where Roles can be dragged into the desired order.
Click Update Sort Order when complete to save.
Printing Roles
By clicking Print Roles List, you can print generate a printer-friendly version of the Roles table.
Quick Add Roles
On clicking Quick-Add Roles, you're given a pop-up containing a list of common roles (based on your Lodge Type).
Tick to select the desired Roles, and Add Roles to create them.
Schedule
theworkingtools.co.uk/lodge/schedule
The Lodge's Schedule (not to be confused with the Events section) is where you set up the pattern of regular meeting events.
Think of them like Templates to use when you're creating an event.
For example, you can create a 'September Lodge' on the schedule that always occurs on the Third Friday of September.
You can add some notes too, so if you always present your Lodge Accounts at the meeting.
Then, when it's time to create the Event in the Events section, you can do so quickly and easily using the scheduled template.
Details
The table on this page shows all of the Scheduled Events for your Lodge, with their title, occurance template and the next occurrance of that event.
Click on a table row to open a pop-up which allows you to edit the details and add Schedule Notes. You can also delete the Scheduled Event from this view.
Add a Scheduled Event
Click Add a New Meeting to create a Scheduled Event.
You'll need to provide a Meeting Title and optionally the usual occurance of the event.
For Lodges where the meeting schedule is less regular (eg. Lunar Lodges), simply leave this field blank.
