Since my initiation into Freemasonry in 2016, I've had the privilege of visiting many Lodges across the UK and joining various Masonic Orders. Through these experiences, I noticed two key insights:
Many Secretaries have shared how the role can feel like a “Job for Life,” requiring not just diligence and organization, but also a great deal of continuous effort.
During my visits, I noticed that the best Secretaries had developed their own systems - spreadsheets, databases, and other tools - to manage their responsibilities effectively. This inspired me to create a standardized set of tools, integrating these best practices into an easy-to-use, online system.
The goal was simple: to provide new and existing Secretaries with a comprehensive resource that could help ease the steep learning curve and modernize lodge management.
Thus, in 2019, The Working Tools was born. Initially developed to support my own Lodges and those nearby, the response was overwhelmingly positive, even attracting attention from lodges worldwide.
After launching the first public version in June 2021, The Working Tools grew into a thriving community. Today, it’s used by Lodges and Orders across the globe, including regions like Singapore, Australia, Europe, the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean.
It's not just for Craft / Blue Lodges, the system is fully customisable to any Masonic Order... Chapter, Mark, KT, Rose Croix, and many more!
